The first on the list of priority issues is Road Safety. This includes road surfacing and maintenance, speeding and pedestrian safety.
We are in discussion with EDC on maintenance issues and potential resolutions to safety issues. The Police are keen to support our request for increased speed patrols while we determine if a more permanent solution can be achieved.
To date we have submitted 2 reports to EDC, local councillors and MSPs. These relate to traffic at the crossroads, proposals for traffic calming and management, safer crossings and reducing the overall risk to pedestrians, cyclists and other road issues in the village.
If you have any issues to report, please contact us. You should also submit a form directly to EDC to ensure it is logged - the more information they receive, the more we can discuss with them. Road fault report | East Dunbartonshire Council
Raised as a priority issue during the recent village survey, we will be taking steps to address this.
EDC have launched an information campaign and we have requested further facilities such as litter bins and free issue dog poo bags for the popular routes in the village.

We are looking at the other issues raised during our village survey last year.

Milton of Campsie Community Council is involved in the Planning process as a consultee. This means we receive notice of Planning applications after validation and have the opportunity to return comment to the council before determination. All members of the community are also able to do this and we would encourage you to do so and get involved in the discussions.
There are no major applications in Planning currently for the village.
The Defibrillator located at the Scotmid on Antermony Road is kindly maintained by volunteers from the village on behalf of the Community Council.
In the case of emergency, please call 999, carry out CPR and send a second person for the defibrillator. How to use a defibrillator | BHF

Funding will be drawn down in October 2022 and will be used to fund projects in the village, such as improving our paths and walking routes. We need to build up a list of areas requiring attention and so if you have any ideas, let us know!
